All about feelings KS1 PSHE lesson. A one-two hour long, very detailed, fully resourced PSHE lesson suitable for KS1. This lesson has been created for Year 2, however, the activities may also suit younger students in KS2 (Year 3). In this lesson, the students will learn about different types of emotions and how to recognise them. The students will read ‘The Colour Monster’ by Anna Llenas and carry out a selection of monster-themed activities. The lesson includes a case study starter, a read-aloud activity with a comprehension task, a set of emotions sorting cards, a literacy-themed main activity (describing emotions using similes) and a plenary. Created to fit the new DfE and PSHE Association statutory 2020 /21 guidelines, the lesson includes a detailed PowerPoint, all editable with accompanying tasks and worksheets. The lesson has been left editable and is filled with engaging, well differentiated and fun activities. A Diversity Drop Down Day Pack - A set of 6 lessons to cover a Citizenship / PSHE Drop Down Day (6 hours) which could be use with either KS3 or KS4 as an off time-table day for the end of term. All the resources are editable and well-differentiated so it could be used with any year group KS4 / KS3, with the option to tweak if you want to. The Drop Down Day celebrates diversity but also investigates opposition and bigotry, as well as exploring how to tackle this, head on. Each lesson lasts an hour and they can be used in any order: What can we learn from religion about tolerance in a diverse society like the UK? What is multiculturalism - why is our society so diverse, why do some people oppose diversity? What benefits does a diverse society bring? What is homophobia? Why does this still exist? Who are trans people? What is transphobia? How can make our school an inclusive place for all? What are sex and gender anyway? How are we all incredibly diverse, with different orientations and personal expression? An examination into how some people use fake news to scare others about the consequences of embracing diversity. How to pick apart these news articles and use critical thinking by studying a variety of sources and evidence. A 40 minute employability skills lesson which was created for LIKE2BE - an online networking platform which helps to raise student aspirations by connecting educators & students with employers and professionals for real world career guidance. This is the ninth of 12 sessions which will cover all aspects of employability skills, as well as serve as a step-by-step guide for schools and students that are signed up to the LikeToBe website. This ninth session is all about the importance of literacy and numeracy skills, how we can acquire them and how we can demonstrate our proficiency in these to employers. All of these resources are three way differentiated, engaging and challenging. They are best suited to KS4 or KS5 students and each lasts 40 minutes.
